Guest talk by Sudha Rajagopalan part 1 of the side programme of the exhibition Mixed Feelings Location: Billytown, Helena van Doeverenplantsoen 3, Den Haag

The matter of solidarity; solidarity matters

Sudha Rajagopalan, a cultural historian of communism and the Cold War, will speak about the importance of looking at moments of intimate connection as an essential element in political and social solidarities. Social movements may run on shared ideas of a just future, but they are sustained by emotional worlds and personal connections. Feelings matter in solidarities.

This talk is part of the solo exhibition Mixed Feelings by Vita Soul Wilmering. Wilmering has invited three people who inspire her to give a talk about their work. Coming from fields as diverse as medicine, poetry, and historical research, each speaker engages with intimate or deeply personal themes at the heart of their work. In different ways, their talks echo the themes of the exhibition. All talks will be held in English.
